I love watching Ian with people.  He just stares at them as if he gets everything they are saying! 

 And it was obvious he was having a serious conversation here!

I think Grampsy was trying to impart some wisdom on growing hair.  I could be wrong, but hair is a serious matter when it comes to the Graybeal men!
